Lakesite Community Pool

Photo of Lakesite PoolIn late 2022, the Lakesite Recreation Club transferred ownership and management of the community pool to the City. Due to the pool's age and condition, the City explored the possibility of building a larger pool in its location, but soil testing revealed that the city-owned and available area at Lakesite Park cannot handle a larger pool and septic system than currently present.

After soliciting community input about the future of the pool, two options were up for discussion - to build a larger pool in the same location or to renovate the existing pool. Initially, the City explored the option to build a larger pool. Unfortunately, soil testing revealed that the land cannot handle a larger pool and septic system.
After careful consideration of other options, the Board of Commissioners decided to go the renovation route. Not only did this limit the cost to the City significantly, but it also made more sense than building in another location and aligned with what the community expressed in the survey. 

Renovations at the existing pool began in November of 2023. The pool house will be renovated after the 2024 season. 

The 2024 season will begin on Memorial Day weekend (May 25) and will end on Labor Day weekend (September 1). We plan to host a doggy pool party like last year after the pool is closed to humans. Season pass sales begin on May 1. 

Payment via check only (cashiers check is acceptable) during business hours at City Hall. Please bring the completed application form along with payment - if you do not have access to a printer, we have a form for you at City Hall.
