MINUTES OF THE REGULAR STATED

MEETING OF THE

LAKESITE CITY COMMISSION

MAY 20, 2008

Mayor Mullin called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Commissioner Neighbors gave the Invocation. Commissioner McPherson led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll was called with Mayor Mullin, Commissioner McPherson, Commissioner Neighbors, City Manager Edwards and City Attorney Elliott present. Vice Mayor Wilkerson and Commissioner Burkett were absent. Commissioner McPherson made a motion to accept the minutes of the Regular Meeting and the Agenda Workshop Meeting, both held on April 15, 2008. Commissioner Neighbors seconded the motion. All Commissioners voted aye and motion carried.

There was no Sheriffs Department report. Jack Brellenthin, Dallas Bay Fire Department, reported eleven calls to Lakesite in April. He said open burning is now banned until September 30, 2008.

Because of some confusing City streets and addresses, GIS would like to see some changes made to help emergency vehicles locate addresses. Lyons Lane will go from Hixson Pike to Love Lane. Bayview Road and Thrasher Trail may be changed to either all Bayview Road or to Thrasher Trail along the area from the pool to Dockside Drive.

Commissioner Neighbors made a motion to pass Ordinance 180, amending Ordinance 60, as amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, to remove the definition of the Planned Unit Development (PUD) overlay zone in the definitions section. Commissioner McPherson seconded the motion. All Commissioners voted aye during roll call vote and Ordinance 180 passed on first reading.

Commissioner McPherson made a motion to pass Ordinance 181, amending the budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2007 and ending June 30, 2008. Commissioner Neighbors seconded the motion. All Commissioners voted aye during roll call vote and Ordinance 181 passed on first reading.

Commissioner McPherson made a motion to pass Ordinance 182, making and fixing the annual appropriation of the several departments of the City for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008 and ending June 30, 2009, and adopting the City budget by reference. Commissioner Neighbors seconded the motion. All Commissioners voted aye during roll call vote and Ordinance 182 passed on first reading.

Commissioner McPherson made a motion to pass Ordinance 183, to provide for the general revenue for the fiscal year 2008-2009, to be known as the general revenue for said year and setting the tax rate of $0.290 per one hundred dollars ($100.00) of taxable property. Commissioner Neighbors seconded the motion. All Commissioners voted aye during roll call vote and Ordinance 183 passed on first reading.

Commissioner Neighbors made a motion to pass Ordinance 184, travel and vehicle use policy. Commissioner McPherson seconded the motion. All Commissioners voted aye during roll call vote. Ordinance 184 passed on first reading.

Commissioner Neighbors made a motion to adjourn. Mayor Mullin adjourned the meeting at 7:50 p.m.
