Robert Dodd asked about the possibility of getting our own post office. Mayor Mullin said the City had tried but he felt it was very improbable. We can use Lakesite 37379 however. He would like to see all of Lakesite with one zip code. Vice Mayor Wilkerson said even having Lakesite 37343 for the business area, which is now Hixson 37343, would help define our City.

Jeff Eblen said the Glengerrie street parking problem is much better now. He asked about the City entrance sign and Mayor Mullin said we had applied for a grant but did not receive it. The City does plan to have a sign however and will check into design and acquiring land.

Joan Kirby asked about surveying done near her home. Mayor Mullin said Commissioner Allis, Parks & Recreation Chair, is checking into future pond improvements. He also said the City is looking into a possible park site on Hixson Pike, across from the former BiLo store.

Reid Andrews asked about the sale of the marina property. He was told that the new owners hope to have a plan in two or three months.

Mr. Dodd said Chimney Hills is starting a petition for liquor by the drink. He was told that it must then be placed on the ballot to be voted on at the November 2008 election. He said he would like to see a drivers license station here to serve this part of the county.

Commissioner Allis, Parks & Recreation, said he is checking on the possible improvement of Little Chickey. Commissioner Burkett, Public Works, said Qore Property Sciences is preparing for bidding on the street paving/maintenance program. Vice Mayor Wilkerson, Public Safety, reported he is checking on the responsibility for court cases, whether it is a code issue or law enforcement issue. Cases would either go to City Court or General Sessions Court. Commissioner McPherson, Budget & Finance, said there will be a preliminary budget session on April 3, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. to prepare the budget for the next fiscal year.

Ordinance 172, to establish a Code of Ethics for the City of Lakesite, was presented for a public hearing. There being no comments, Vice Mayor Wilkerson made a motion to pass Ordinance 172. Commissioner McPherson seconded the motion. During roll call vote all Commissioners voted aye and Ordinance 172 passed on second and final reading.
