MINUTES OF THE REGULAR STATED

MEETING OF THE

LAKESITE CITY COMMISSION

JANUARY 15, 2008

Mayor Mullin called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. Vice Mayor Wilkerson gave the Invocation. Commissioner McPherson led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll was called with Mayor Mullin, Vice Mayor Wilkerson, Commissioner Burkett, Commissioner McPherson, City Manager Edwards and City Attorney Elliott present. Commissioner McPherson made a motion to accept the minutes of the Agenda Workshop Meeting and the Regular Meeting held on November 20, 2007. Commissioner Burkett seconded the motion. All Commissioners voted aye and motion carried. Commissioner McPherson made a motion to accept the minutes of the Zoning-Land Use Workshop held on November 13, 2007. Commissioner Burkett seconded the motion. All Commissioners voted aye and motion carried. There were no meetings held in December.

Jim Coppinger and Jean Anglin gave information about the North River Civic Forum programs held in Hixson.

Dusty Stokes, Hamilton County Sheriffs Department, explained that the Sheriffs Department had gone to eight hour shifts starting the first of the year and he had no written reports at this time. The Lakesite citation ticket books were given to him to distribute to the officers.

Jack Brellenthin, Dallas Bay Fire Department, reported answering eleven calls to the City in December 2007 and gave the Commissioners a summary report for 2007.

John Scott asked about the marina status and Mayor Mullin said there was no new progress to report.

Jeff Eblen asked about a city entrance sign. Mayor Mullin responded that we had tabled the issue for now to decide where to locate the sign.

Commissioner McPherson reported that City Manager Edwards had given the Commissioners a financial report and the City was still on target.

Mayor Mullin reported that currently four citizens were being interviewed for the Commission vacancy left by David Allis. His term was to run until November 2008. A questionnaire had been sent ot all residents to see if anyone would be interested.

Vice Mayor Wilkerson made a motion to pass Ordinance 178, amending Ordinance 60, as amended, known as the Lakesite Zoning Ordinance to adopt a new zone, Planned Residential Development (PRD) as a replacement of the Planned Unit Development (PUD) zone. This would assist in the development of the marina area-high density with a common use area. Commissioner McPherson seconded the motion. Roll call vote: All Commissioners voted aye and Ordinance 178 passed on first reading.

Commissioner Burkett made a motion to pass Ordinance 179, amending Title 3, Municipal Court, Chapter 1, City Court, to add Section 3-113, Court Costs, by specifically setting forth the court costs on municipal ordinances and other violations. Commissioner McPherson seconded the motion. Roll call vote: All Commissioners voted aye and Ordinance 179 passed on first reading.

Vice Mayor Wilkerson made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Burkett seconded the motion. Mayor Mullin adjourned the meeting at 7:55 p.m.
