Vice-Mayor John McPherson and his wife Juanita live on Pineway Trail. They have been married for 43 years and have one son and three grandsons. John serves as the Commissioner of Public Utilities for the City of Lakesite. He also serves as Chairman of the Hamilton County Storm Water Management Committee. John retired from TVA in 1997 after 25 years of service. At TVA, he managed the Mechanical Plant Performance Section at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant for 10 years. He also served as project manager for plant modifications for another 10 years, where he managed work scope, procurement, and installation of a multimillion-dollar computer system. John is also a veteran of the United States Navy. There he served in the nuclear power and submarine service for seven years. For two years he was the training instructor in Nuclear Plant Operation at West Milton Prototype in Schnectady, New York. Water:Hixson Utility District (no sewers in residential area).
